Explore Family Chiropractic opened in the Aurora Commons in 2018 as a fully independent practice, not a franchise. Dr. Nicholas Toumazos and Dr. Lauren Mayes both graduated with honors from Life University in 2017, then chose Northeast Ohio as the place to build a whole-family, root-cause practice serving Aurora, Streetsboro, Twinsburg, Hudson, Solon, and the surrounding communities.

That independence shows up in the care patients receive. The office pairs the gentle, instrument-assisted Torque Release Technique with traditional manual adjusting, advanced prenatal and pediatric programs, non-surgical spinal decompression, StemWave acoustic wave therapy, and a four-step peripheral neuropathy protocol that earned an unsolicited feature on News 5 Cleveland's Spotlight5.

A native of Northeast Ohio, Dr. Toumazos is grateful for the chance to give back to his home community. He earned his B.S. in Exercise Physiology from Ohio University before completing his Doctor of Chiropractic at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating with honors in 2017. Dr. Toumazos holds an Advanced Proficiency Certification in the Torque Release Technique, a gentle, instrument-assisted method that lets him adjust patients of every age without the twisting or forceful cracking many people associate with chiropractic care. Over more than 15 years working in spinal health and prenatal chiropractic care, he has focused on treating the whole person rather than a single complaint. His four-step neuropathy protocol, built to restore nerve and blood-vessel function for patients who have been told their condition can't improve, earned Explore Family Chiropractic its News 5 Cleveland Spotlight5 feature.

Dr. Lauren Mayes, DC

A native of Northeast Tennessee, Dr. Mayes earned her B.S. from East Tennessee State University in 2013, then spent nine years working as a pharmacy technician before deciding to pursue a career in chiropractic. She completed her Doctor of Chiropractic at Life University in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating with honors in 2017 alongside Dr. Toumazos. While at Life University, Dr. Mayes discovered her passion for prenatal and pediatric care and completed the school's full advanced pediatric coursework track under a nationally respected ICPA-certified instructor. Today she provides gentle, effective care for expecting mothers navigating pregnancy discomfort and for children from newborns through adolescents, addressing everything from colic and ear infections to sleep issues and growing pains.
